I'm still figuring out how I want to engage here around more personal updates (which is something I've missed since losing livejournal, and even more since watching the half-viable alternatives crumble in front of me over the last number of years). But the people who would most have context for them aren't actually here, yet, and the fact that life has been non-stop dramatic changes of all kinds over the last few months doesn't make it easier.

Things are changing a lot! All the closest people in my life are going through dramatic emotional upheaval! Probably including me! Ha ha, I said "probably" as though there is any question! Some of it has been really hard; some of it has meant spending a lot of wonderful time with those same people, which has been amazing. Hoping there is more sleep on the horizon.

A big relatively-emotionally-uncomplicated thing going on this week is: I'm now well into work on Yuri Jam 2024, where I'm a composer for a team that is shaping up to be really freaking cool. It's been an amazing time so far; after some mixed past experiences it is a pleasure and a relief to be asked for composition work that is interesting and ambitious and about lesbians. I can't wait till things are finished enough to be shareable.

Out the window right now I can hear a young child, encouraged by their parent, doing long howling "awoooo"s.

Next week I'm starting Yuri Jam 2024, a 2-month game jam to make art (historically / usually visual novels) prominently featuring lesbianism. (I somewhat-unexpectedly ended up on a team as a composer.) You should join me!
